A bit about me.


Prior to founding my company in 2006, I held the positions of area director of public relations at The Ritz-Carlton Hotels of Washington, D.C.; and public relations manager at The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation responsible for promoting its Hospitality Group encompassing the Williamsburg Inn, Williamsburg Lodge and Conference Center, Colonial Houses Historic Lodging, Woodlands Hotel and Conference Center, Governors Inn, ten restaurants, and the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club located in Williamsburg, Virginia. Awards include several MarCom Creative Awards and Gold Quill for Media Excellence.

A seasoned travel journalist and photographer for more than 20 years, and long-time community volunteer, various honors received include two Southeast Tourism Society Travel Writer of the Year Awards, photography recognition, and The Florida Commendation Medal for Outstanding Meritorious Service.

My portfolio includes articles and photography published in regional, national and international publications. I have taught travel marketing and co-authored a business history book for the Dothan, Alabama, Chamber of Commerce.  I am an experienced researcher and accomplished public speaker.

A 22-year member of the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW), I have served in several elected leadership positions.  I am an active member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), its National Capital Chapter and the Independent Public Relations Alliance.  I served on the National Trust for Historic Preservation Historic Hotels of America national public relations committee for seven years.

A graduate of the Greater Washington Board of Trade Small Business Academy, I currently serve a City of Alexandria-appointed position on the Alexandria Marketing Fund Committee.  Additional interests include Capital Speakers Club of Washington, D.C. Inc., U.S. Army Arlington Ladies, Washington Network Group, Alzheimer’s Association National Capital Area Chapter former Board of Directors, past president Alzheimer’s Women’s Association for Resources and Education (AWARE), Junior League of Washington, D.C., Inc.

I graduated from the University of Alabama Tuscaloosa with a Bachelor of Science Degree.
